Helping Kids This Christmas Season and Beyond

It’s the first day of December and do you know what means? It means most families have taken out their Advent Calendars and have begun counting down to Christmas. The holidays is a season for festivities, merry-making and gift-giving. And everyone would agree that the season primarily revolves around the children. In their eyes, Christmas is magical. And we, as adults, try out best to make their Christmas as magical as possible.

What about the underprivileged kids? The ones without families to celebrate the season to? The ones who are neglected and abused? I hope that we don’t forget the ones that have been forgotten by their own parents or haven’t had the fortune to have someone care for them. I pray that we would be able to help and reach out to as many children as we can. Our funds are limited, so I am hoping I can do something more.

It was a blessing in disguise I was able to discover the website, CarstoHelpKids.org. The site is about the Cars to Help Kids Program, where you can donate car, running or not, to them to help kids. All proceeds goes to supporting children’s hospitals, mentoring and educational programs, and funding various outreach initiatives that meet the needs of children. Their program is really simple, you can donate your car, boat, RV, motorycle or property, whether it is in good condition or not. That is why it is called cars for kids!

Here is a brief rundown how to donate your car to the program:

You can go to their web site, http://www.carstohelpkids.org/, fill out their online form or call 1.888.990.4KID(543). They will ask some information from you and then they will process your donation. Your donation will be towed, all expense paid, from your house or location and an IRS tax deductible donation receipt sent to you. All vehicles assessed to be $500 and over are tax-deductible. Usually, they tow or get your vehicle within 24-72 hours, or sooner, based on whatever is at your convenience. Once they get your vehicle, they would need the title for the car you are donating and a lien release for the vehicle if there was ever a lien on the car.

And that is it! Can you imagine how many families change vehicles every year? Or how many vehicles you see in junk shops, without any use? Those cars can make a great change in other children’s lives.
