Career Paths for Kids: Network Support Specialist (Windows Server Monitoring)

My son is now in 5th grade. With the education system in our country, it means that he will be in high school two years from and college, six years from now. I am hoping to expose him to as many careers as possible so he can grasp the extent of each job and hopefully find something he would be passionate about.

I am from a medical-related course but work a technology-related and article writing centered job. It can be confusing at times. But I am no IT specialist.

He isn’t really keen in the information technology but he does love computers and the Internet. One time, an uncle explained to him all the things he does for a living. He is a Network Support Specialist – focusing on software support and solutions, like sql server monitoring, windows server monitoring and VMware monitoring. From what I have heard from their talk, networks are really used by almost all kinds of institutions these days. Most are going paper-less and taking advantage of technology by storing everything in micro-chips. It can be disseminated and searched for in a couple of keywords – and increases productivity of each employee and generates more revenue and improve customer satisfaction.

I asked him is he wanted to be an NSS (Network Support Specialist) and he told he would have to think about it more.

He can take all the time in the world.

Making Things Easy for Homeschooling Children by Using Presentation Folders

Homeschooling is not for everybody. I admire a lot of mothers who have gone down that route. My aunt homeschooled her three children until they were in junior high school. They needed to be in a regular school by senior year because our college aptitude exams do not recognize homeschooling grades yet. And still they were able to get into premium universities of their choice! It really isn’t a matter where the child gets his education but how he learns. The environment and the teacher play important roles and for some families, homeschooling is the best option.
It might become a bit of challenge for mothers if they explore and try homeschooling for the first time. So here are some tips:
1. Have a flexible schedule.
One of the greatest things about homeschooling is that you are in charge on how you manage your time with your kids. It is vital to have arranged a schedule of lessons for the week, but make sure that the schedule allows for some adjustments, if necessary. Alternate learning periods with hours of play, watching interesting movies together, listening to music, learning a new dance step, etc.

2. Incorporate lessons in daily activities.

You can teach children the concept of math anywhere, while they are taking a bath by counting bubbles or at the dinner table while eating their veggies or snakes.

3. Motivate yourself and have fun.

Your kids can feel if homeschooling is being a burden for you. Find ways to enjoy homeschooling together with your kids. Remember that homeschooling provides so many opportunities to bond with your child and to give you that sense of achievement that you are playing an active role in your child’s learning process.

4. Be organized with homeschool stuff. You can use a homeschool record keeping software but you still need to find a way to keep track of your childrens’ work and write down what they have done

I strongly suggest you utilize a Printing Service so you can have custom-made educational materials done for your child. Presentation Folders bearing your child’s name can be ordered in multiples to store worksheets by subject with and to keep records of their progress. Plastic Card Printing can be utilized for bag tags and educational materials incorporated into lessons.

Portables

We own a lot of portables. It has made our lives easier because we get to travel with the kids often and one way to keep them busy and not get bored and fight with each other is giving them each a gadget to play with. It maybe a portable DVD player to watch movies in, a PSP or iTouch/iPhone to play games with or the netbook to surf the net with, if there is an internet connection available.

Protecting Yourself Against Identity Theft Fraud

Identity theft is the fastest growing crime, not only in the United States but in other parts of the world. Despite federal laws and other provisions to protect the consumers, the crime still continue to persist and the number of victims is not dwindling. When one scam is discovered, a new one comes up. There just seems to be no end on how identity theft criminals and fraudsters can trick and outsmart other people from giving out their accounts or accessing them without the owner’s permission. People have been informed and reminded on how they can prevent identity theft and no matter how intensive these campaigns are, consumers are still being tricked and like it or not, the next victim can be you.

Vigilance is always the key to preventing identity theft. Identity theft crimes have different types and there are specific scams that are more prevalently performed by criminals than others like the phone scam. In this particular crime, the consumer will receive a call from a bank representative and inform the customer of an upcoming merger. To prevent the customer’s account from being closed, they would have to verify the customer’s account information which most people give out without verifying the identity of the person on the other line. Obviously, the goal here is to access as much personal information as they possibly can so that they can gain access to your account.

Another scam being purported by identity theft criminals is via email. A consumer will receive an email stating that your bank or credit card company would need to verify your account information for account related purposes. There are also email scams that would state that you’ve won an online lottery and in order for them to process your check, they would need your account information. Believe it or not, people are also falling prey to these types of email and while identity theft criminals and scammers can be really deceptive thus, the email that they send can look pretty authentic. If you happen to receive any type of email that asks for your personal information, ignore them but if you’re doubtful, call your bank , credit card company or the entity specified in the email to check if indeed, the email is authentic.

Credit monitoring is always a crucial part in preventing identity theft. It is something that you can do for yourself by requesting for your credit report at least once a year and checking out all the information provided in your credit report. You have to make sure that every piece of information included in that particular email is true and correct, even the spelling of your name. Any discrepancy or changes that you feel you did not authorize should be immediately reported to the credit bureau so that changes can be made. On the other hand, if you are too busy to do it yourself, you can always ask the help of credit monitoring services that will monitor your account for you.

Family Laptop

I have been browsing laptops over the internet for awhile now because my husband just gave me the go signal to get a laptop for the kids. It wont be a high-end laptop – just enough to play games with, do assignments, watch videos and surf a little. The kids are all over our laptops and since we cannot afford to have it damaged because we need it for work, we have decided that a laptop for them will be a great idea. We still have full control over it though and there will be certain time schedules for everything.
