I want to cultivate good and avid readers in my children. Growing up, I was more into reading than playing outside or even watching TV and playing video games. Studies show that reading with children helps them get interested and creates a bond between parents and children to avoid future personality problems or the need for admission to anxiety drug treatment centers.

Here are some books that have great father figures/models. Perfect for dads out there.

Are Comic Books Good Reading For Children?

The advancement in technology can be a disadvantage at times. Children these days love to surf the internet, play video games, listen to music or sit down and watch a movie. Nothing really ever stimulates their imagination anymore since everything is there already for absorption. Why is reading so important for a child? Reading can improve your child’s speech, pronunciation of words and their vocabulary. It will also help hone their imagination, comprehension and perception skills.

Do not discount the ability of comic books to give your children the benefits of books without photos. For all you know, these comic books can actually start your children to love reading more. Start them on books with topics they are interested in – their favorite action hero, comic books that were made into movie adaptations. Helping them pick up a book is a start, no matter what.

There are comic books for sale at Newkadia.com which can qualify for collectible items.

Be sure to monitor your child’s reading. It will do them no good if they sit at the table and stare at the pictures. Once they have finished the comic book give them a little quiz. Have them describe what they have read. If they supply you with detailed information, then you will know that they are following the story.
